Northwest Resources philosophy is firm in its belief that Chemical Dependency is a primary, chronic disease with genetic, psychosocial and environmental factors influencing its development and manifestations. The disease is often progressive and fatal. Additionally, it is often characterized by impaired control over drinking or drug use, preoccupation with alcohol and or other drug use, continued use, despite adverse consequences, and distortions in thinking, most notably denial.

We use comprehensive treatment approaches that are evidence based to produce results: MRT (Moral Reconation Therapy), Interactive Journaling, 12-Step Group sessions, Individual sessions, and Family sessions.

The type of counseling provided by all staff is chemical dependency counseling in the areas of assessment, intervention, treatment planning, family support, aftercare and re-entry.

The methods and techniques the counselors use include individual and group counseling, education in chemical dependency and recovery, family supportive counseling, aftercare and discharge planning and auriculotherapy.
